Description: Under the direction of the Marketing Manager, two new hires will create video content for the various purposes for the Museum, including project managing a major, two-year film project. They will plan, film, photograph, and edit audiovisual content for the Museum of Art, including conducting interviews and virtual tours. They must be comfortable behind the camera, an experienced editor, and have interest in creating marketing content. Required Duties: - Plan, project-manage, coordinate, schedule, film, edit, and publish video content for the Museum of Art for promotional, educational, and archival purposes
- Monitor current video trends across platforms and strategize ways to implement those trends for the Museum
- Develop and execute innovative concepts for future video content to promote the MOA and achieve its strategic objectives
- Maintain consistent branding, identity, and copyright standards
- Photograph Museum artworks, galleries, events, visitors, etc.
- Assist in various marketing and public relations tasks as needed
- Must be available to work about at least 10 hours/week during term time, including occasional weekday mornings between 8-10 AM; infrequent evening and weekend work may be required
Potential Duties: - Project manage a two-year film project, in which you will coordinate with various stakeholders, capture behind-the-scenes footage of MOA operations, coordinate film times, plan and schedule interviews, develop storyboards for promotional and educational projects, edit content in various formats, and publish it to MOA platforms
Required skills: - BYU student (both undergraduate and graduate students welcome to apply)
- Proficient both shooting and editing audiovisual content
- Familiarity with Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok
- Ability to coordinate and manage projects involving large groups of people
- Attention to detail, promptness, professionalism, and ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Proficiency or willingness to learn Adobe Premiere Pro
Preferable skills: - Experience filming in poorly-lit conditions
- Experience editing audio
- Familiarity with art history or the Museum of Art specifically
- Ability to write about art and/or museums
- Experience managing/creating campaigns for branded social media content
- Media Arts Studies majors (or similar field of study) strongly encouraged to apply.
